DANCING WITH ABANDON

WITH KIND PERMISSION OF THE COMPOSER AND AUTHOR KAREN HARTMAN.
THE AWARD WINNING MUSICAL "DANCING WITH ABANDON"

Some of the ideas and sketches that lead to the final versions...

First came the idea for the DIVA...

then her moment of shame....
She eventually took on this persona...butterflies everywhere and her favorite role.

Then we tried to find out what the boy should look like...

on the right track but a bit too woebegone.....so next we tried...

Nope....try again....

too crazy but getting there....

Almost but put on a Tee Shirt...

OK now take it further...

The final look for the boy. Now put them together...

One idea that we used for prints given to all the cast.

A close up of the boy...
An idea for a mug.....

an early version of the newspaper ad before we made the kid a little friendlier....

The final result was the poster.

Much fun was had by all and the musical continues to grow and develop in fascinating ways...I am sure updates will be forthcoming!
